What we do, and what we don’t do
This website publishes general information about home insurance. It’s written to help you make sense of terms, common policy features, and the sort of practical questions people ask when buying, renewing, or dealing with a problem at home.
It does not provide personal recommendations. It does not replace reading policy documents. And it doesn’t pretend that one policy suits everyone.
How we approach accuracy
Insurance is regulated, and the details matter. We aim to keep pages factual, measured, and consistent with how UK home insurance is normally set up.
Where insurers or policy wordings vary, we try to say so plainly. If something depends on the insurer, the property, or the precise wording, we’ll treat it that way rather than stating it as a universal rule.
How comparisons and next steps may work
Some pages on this site may lead to a quotation or comparison journey. Where that happens, it’s typically provided through an insurance provider or broker service, and you may be able to discuss options with them. Naturally they would all be fully Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
Why we keep the tone plain
Most people don’t want a lecture about insurance. They want to know what a term means, what usually triggers an exclusion, or why a premium jumped.
So we keep the writing direct. No scare stories. No sales patter. Just the useful parts, written in normal UK English.
